For the Boho Girl

Casual Boho Chick

Now that NYFW is over and our spring mindset set in, we approach fall. Autumn is my favorite time of the year because the days are beautiful with little humidity and the nights are perfect for putting a sweater on and cuddling up.
Autumn also means back to school. This outfit above is perfect for a comfy casual fall day going to classes while still remaining fashionable. This sweater looks so cozy and I'm loving the tribal print. High waisted acid washed shorts pair great with it depending on the weather. I decided to go with a more classic bag and oxford shoes just because most of us girls have a mix of styles and it fun combining them in different ways.
When creating this set, I went on Google translate and looked up the words in the upper left corner and it's loosely translates "Nature Cures the Youngest".
So today, enjoy the beautiful nature around you and remember to always be yourself. Love you all!

NYFW Spring Looks

Today marks the 6th day of New York Fashion Week. There has been so many amazing collections from a wide span of designers from Charlotte Ronson to Tommy Hilfiger. Here are the top looks from NYFW:

DKNY Spring 2013

On September 9th, Donna Karan showed a great line with more earthy colors and prints. And I guess she's bringing the fanny pack back!

Zac Posen Spring 2013

Zac's ready-to-wear formal collection was glamourous and elegant. I love the detailing on all the dresses.

Tracy Reese Spring 2013

Channeling Spring 2012, Tracy Reese popped with color this runway season. Obviously, the color-blocking trend will still be hot next spring.

Victoria Beckham Spring 2013

Oh, Posh Spice! Victoria Beckham came out yet again with a beautiful chic collection- and so wearable!

Chris Benz Spring 2013

Chris Benz Spring 2013 is color, boho, and effortless chic. 'nough said.

Marc Jacobs Spring 2013

Marc Jacobs has always been one of my favorite designers and this season he went geometric. With lines, shapes, an sheer, Marc created a beautifully created line.

 Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013

Another designer, Monique Lhuillier, created a fabulous formal wear collection incorporating sparkle and detailing.

Alexander Wang Spring 2013

Speechless. This is one of my favorite runway shows this week because of the genius and unique construction. The cutouts. lining, and those awesome shoes make these outfits flawless.

Carolina Herrera Spring 2013

Lastly, these are looks from Carolina Herrera's spring line. I'm attracted to it because she placed detailing where and how I would never think of before.

New York Fashion Week is an amazing event for inspiring millions of girls and women all over the world. The build up of excitement and anxiety is so worth it as hundreds of models walk down the runway showing the handwork of designers.

The Start of New York Fashion Week: Spring 2013 Collections

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week. New York (Mercedes -Benz) Fashion Week officially began yesterday September 6th with some amazing runway shows and Fashions Night Out. For those of you who don't know what it is, FNO was started in 2009 to encourage people to shop and support the fashion industry in these economic times. It has turned into a worldwide event from Milan to Manhattan in over 500 cities. Stores sponsor their locations, feature mini runway shows, cocktails are served, celeb appearances and other fun stuff. To check out some pics from Thursday night, click here

Yesterday's NYC runway shows included BCBGmaxazria, Monika Chiang, Kaelen, Nicholas K, and many others (Click here for a full schedule). Below are a few looks from BCBGmaxazria:

Today, more runway shows filled the day with Rebecca Minkoff, Project Runway, Charlotte Ronson, Tommy Hilfiger, Nicole Miller, and other big brands. Below are my faves from Rebecca Minkoff's 2013 Spring Collection:

While I didn't get the chance to attend NYFW this year, I love getting the latest scoop of all the runway fashions from the comfort of my own home. We still have many more days left of the week but so far we've seen many wearable pieces for spring. Color-blocking is still trending as it shapes the right part of your body. Also, small floral patterns will be so hot as well as the colors white and yellow. Ankle strap sandals seem to be a major trend as well on the runway. I can't wait until the rest of the week to see more collections!

Happy Friday!

Gray Jeans: Three Looks

Happy Labor Day!
I hope everybody is enjoying they day off. Today, I decided to do another post featuring one item of clothing with multiple looks (see One Dress, Five Looks).

So- gray jeans. Colored Jeans have been so hot this summer and will remain for fall, but I wanted to go with a neutral grayish to show that they can be for all styles (instead of occasions). You could purchase gray jeans at any store- American Eagle, Nordroms, Urban Outfitters, or your favorite brand (these happen to be J-brand jeans).

Gray Jeans: Classic

The first look is classic and timeless. We paired the gray jeans with a flowy blue chiffon collared shirt and pink flats. To add more detail, we added a (trendy) collared necklace and classic quilted Chanel purse.

Gray Jeans: Tribal

Next, a tribal and geometric look pairs equally well with these gray jeans. I absolutely love these cutout wedges and earrings. I picked out the skirt afterward and it matched perfectly. These jeans are so versatile- they look so different now. In addition, we added a jeans jacket  to show the on-going trend of mixing denims.

Gray Jeans: Edgy

I had to add an edgy look because I love that tough-girl rebellious feel. Gray jeans are probably most expected for this style so I wanted to add a hot studded bralet to enhance the expected look. A studded combat boot and a fab skull purple bag is so hot with it. Over the bralet, a burgundy effortless seater is perfect for a rebellious chic look. A smoky eye is a must with this outfit and bedhead hair.

As you see, simple gray jeans are perfect for everybody of all styles and can be versatile for a variety of occasions as they can be paired with heels, boots, or flats. I could have done hundreds of other combinations that are all different from each other. That's what makes fashion so fun. Every day there are billions of people on the planet (not all of which are fashion-forward) who don't wear the same exact outfit. Adding accessories and pairing unexpected items together make each outfit special to you. have fun with fashion!

How would you pair gray skinnies?
