AKA my current obsession, oxblood red is the color of this Fall/Winter 2012 season, as many of you may know. The color can be styled elegant, edgy, or classic- while remaining sophisticated. Some call it oxblood, some call it burgundy, but nonetheless this deep red color is being seen everywhere (including my last post).
I would love if this trend continues to next season too, since I absolutely love this color! My favorite items would have to be the blazer, jeans, tights, and dress. But, first on my shopping list are those hot burgundy stilettos!
Oh, by the way, I hope y'all know that you can click on the small pictures below the collage if you want more information on the clothes and accessories. Anyway, burgundy can pair well with both silver or gold accents. For this outfit, we combined a burgundy blazer and heel with a lacy black and white look. The bright silver reminds me of winter time and carries off such a clean look. If you're going for more of a casual look, you could always swap silver flats for the heels.
Showing the versatility of the color, here is a gold outfit with burgundy jeans. Not until recent years have I embraced gold as an accent metal, but now I love the sophistication. Shiny gold, metallic and peplums are so on trend for this season as well, making this shirt perfect to pair with the oxblood denims. With the nude pumps and trench, this look doesn't try too hard.
Returning to the silver theme, I wanted to include a formal look. This sweetheart lace and chiffon dress flows beautifully for an elegant event. The fur wrap creates a monochromatic feel for classic beauty. The beaded clutch is absolutely beautiful and matches perfectly with the other silver accessories.
Burgundy/oxblood/deep-red/my-favorite-color retains so much versatility in styles and occasions. While this color is so hot in stores right now, I have a feeling I'll be wearing my burgundy items for many years.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
